recent illustration

This is something I did for the magazine Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities for an article about bull and bear markets. I had a lot of fun making the wallpaper and floor with mostly watercolors and markers, then assembling them in Photoshop. I have been a little obsessed with making dots with Copic sketch markers. They are perfect dot-making markers.

I also updated my site with a bunch or new artwork last week.

yay!

SOME STUFF.

I am back on Twitter. I got annoyed with it last year and quit for a while but decided to join back up again because I like to see what other people are posting.

Follow me at http://www.twitter.com/lizadamsart

I haven't posted many paintings/drawings in a while. Part of the reason was that I was pretty wrapped up in a few projects that I'm pitching right now, one being a book. I've also been promoting my freelance illustration a lot more lately in these hard times. I feel better when I'm regularly making things, even if they are silly little drawings. So I've started up again and I hope I can keep it going for a while.

Here are a few that can be found in my ETSY shop:

Below are some illustrations of embarrassing situations I did last fall for the spring issue of Teen magazine. Unfortunately Teen's last regular issue was the winter issue so that's a total bummer. I really liked working for them.

Rock 'n' Roll Monkey Art

This is some album artwork I did for the band Rock 'n' Roll Monkey and the Robots. I was going to post about this a while back, but got really busy at the time of the release. The album has been out for a few months and has gotten some great (and well deserved) press. This is the second Rock 'n' Roll Monkey album that I've done artwork for and they've always been awesome to work with. The album is available on their website and I highly recommend checking it out.

Illustration in the March issue of Elle GIRL Korea

Elle GIRL Korea commissioned several artists to make their own versions of the cover for it's sixth birthday. Here's mine:

As cheesy as it may be, I love to draw cute girls playing guitars. I love drawing cool guitars too. Maybe I watched too much Jem and the Holograms as a kid...

catching up...

I've been pretty preoccupied with promotion and a few projects I'm pitching so blogging has been on the back burner lately. This is some stuff that came out a while ago but I neglected to blog about it at the time.

One of my cards is in this book.

One of my cards (that I ran out of) is in the book 1000 Handmade Greetings by Laura McFadden, published by Quarry books. There is also one of my little characters on the cover.

I also had some illustrations in the winter issue of Teen Magazine. One is an illustration of an embarrassing situation where a girl thinks she is going to scare her little sister but instead scares a cute boy, and the rest are some cute spot illos.
